Three Reasons We Decided to Book A Cruise

Honestly,  John  and I are not really “Cruise Ship” people but it seems that we have actually booked a cruise this summer to celebrate my bla bla big birthday.

The first reason:  It is a relatively cheap way to see a part of the world that we have always wanted to see. When you add up hotels, food, and travel from location to location to go from Venice to the Dalmatian Coast in Croatia and a few Greek Islands ending in Athens it’s simply more efficient and cheaper to do it on a cruise ship.

We picked Seabourn,  a well- known Luxury Cruise Line with smaller very luxurious ships. In fact, they call them yachts. As John and I are very interested in yachting, we will be able to enjoy the ports of call on this cruise almost as if we were on large private yacht. We certainly will be able to enjoy the fantasy we see as we arrive at these glamourous harbors. Plus, we’ll enjoy the loads of toys and fun off the stern even when at anchor.

Mardi Gras: Muffulettas & Fried Oyster Po’ Boys

I always miss New Orleans and Tulane Architecture (my alma mater), and  this time of year– MARDI GRAS, dawlin’!  I especially miss Muffulettas and Fried Oyster Po’ Boys. My favorite place in New Orleans for a Po’ Boy is Domilise’s. Looking it up, I came across …Great Food cheap. Love it!

Check out for a Muffuletta Bread Recipe.

The Muffuletta sandwich had its origins at the Central Grocery in New Orleans,  the primary ingredient being an Italian jarred olive salad.  Or, you could make your own using this Muffulettta Sandwich Recipe from

From the Food Network, here is a great recipe for  fried oyster po’ boys with spicy remoulade sauce! Try it it on on Italian bread (above)  or a French baguette.

LUXUO: a Luxurious Blog that “Wowed” Us

I just added LUXUO to our You Wowed Uslink list. It is a beautiful and well-laid-out blog of all things Luxurious, from Billionaire Life all the way down to Pets to Writing Instruments, and all things in between that we at Globally Gorgeous also focus on. We are always excited to find new resources and news on the latest and greatest in topics such as art, design, luxury real estate, travel, aircraft and yachting. I couldn’t help but re-post their recent post on Alexander Wang’s niece at a New York Fashion Week.  Seriously cute.
